Just who are those people in hard hats, bright vests and boots who have been on Orange County’s beaches the last many days carrying sacks and scoopers and removing the messy oil that has marred the sands?

Kent Bartley, CEO of Patriot Environmental Services, on Friday gave insight into the Long Beach-based operation that swiftly sent crews to clean up the aftermath of the oil spill that occurred early this month and washed ashore a trail of tar balls from Huntington Beach to San Diego County.
