Cary is the Executive Chairman of Patriot Environmental Services. Cary has been involved in the private equity industry, with a focus on the energy and infrastructure industries, for 15 years, including as Head of M&A for k1 Ventures, Ltd., a publicly traded investment company listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Cary is also the Founder and President of Channel Investment Advisors, Inc., a Los Angeles-based private equity firm. Additional current positions include being a Managing Member of Sunny Frog Oil, LLC and of Grade 5 Oil, LLC, both of which own production oil assets throughout California. Cary additionally serves on the Board of Directors of Pavement Recycling Systems, Inc., and on the Investment Committee and Pension Committee at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Cary has a B.B.A in Finance from University of Texas – Austin and a J.D. from the USC Gould School of Law.
Tom is the founder and Vice Chairman of Patriot Environmental Services, which he founded in 2002. He continues to provide visionary guidance to the company's management team and Board of Directors. Tom has over 25 years of experience in the environmental field, including emergency response management, logistics, and industrial services. Prior to founding Patriot, Tom was a Senior Operations Manager at Foss Environmental from 1995-2002, then promoted to V.P. of Southern California. He is a graduate of Glassboro State College.
Chief Executive Officer
Brian joined Patriot as Chief Executive Officer in 2017, and is responsible for the company’s overall effectiveness and success, which includes all operational aspects of the company, the most important of which is the safety of Patriot’s employees and customers. . Prior to working with Patriot on the company’s automation and optimization initiative, Brian worked for over two decades in leading the development of strategic growth plans and tactical process improvements for multi-state/multi-unit service companies in a number of operationally intensive industries. Brian's career includes prior positions as co-founder, Chief Operating Officer, and President of Vac One Services, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Consolidated Utility Services, and senior vice president of operations for UtiliQuest. Brian has a BA from Florida State University and an MS in Business Administration from Boston University.
President & Chief Administrative Officer
Rich joined Patriot Environmental Services in 2002, and has oversaw the company’s day to day operations during the company's initial growth phase. Rich joined Patriot shortly after its inception and has been instrumental in the development of Patriot’s response strategy, infrastructure, and client relationship programs. He previously served as the Regional Controller for Foss Environmental, working for Tom Scranton. Rich has a B.B.A from the University of Southern California.
Chief Operating Officer
Steve's background includes over 30 years of upstream oil and gas operations, including technical management and leadership positions focused on production operations, drilling engineering, process facilities design, logistics support, regulatory compliance, economic and profitability analysis, strategic planning and joint ventures. Steve has spent most of his career in the California LA basin in positions in the oil, gas and energy business in the capacities of reservoir, drilling and production engineering, strategic planning, project economics, contract negotiations as well as regulatory compliance for large independent oil and gas corporations, public utilities, as well as independent proprietors. Steve earned a Bachelor of Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a combined major in Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering, and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of California.
Chief Financial Officer
Greg is the Chief Financial Officer of Patriot Environmental Services. Greg has over 20 years of finance, fleet and operations experience in railroad, chemical warehousing, trucking, logistics, waste disposal and recycling. Greg is responsible for accounting/finance, risk management, and administration. Greg earned a Bachelor of Science from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in Accounting and is a Certified Management Accountant.
Randy Balik came to Patriot in order to centralize and develop the company’s Remediation Services as a stand-alone service offering and business unit. In addition, Randy now manages Patriot's corporate marketing program as well as business development efforts for many of Patriot's key accounts. Prior to his arrival at Patriot over the previous 15 years, Randy has owned and operated two different environmental remediation and land redevelopment contracting companies, serving the Western United States. He has extensive experience with industrial and environmental services, as well as all aspects of demolition, remediation, and facility closure. Randy has also helped found two different Internet-based companies as well as a renewable energy technology company in the geothermal industry. Randy's primary skill-set relates to entrepreneurial business management and large-scale business development in the environmental and technology sectors. His skills in developing long-term clients and general start-up business strategy will continue to be necessary as Patriot grows both its Remediation business unit as well as the company as a whole. Randy is a general engineering contractor’s license qualifier in CA, AZ, NV and UT. He is also Chairman Emeritus on the Board of Directors for the Western States Petroleum Association (WSPA) Associates and serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Environmental Management Association (PEMA), both of which provide access to industry executives and lobbying groups that focus on all aspects of the energy and environmental industries. Randy has a B.A. in Environmental Science, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania.
Josh Teves, PG
Regulatory Compliance & Patriot WasteWater
Josh is responsible for overseeing regulatory components associated with both the current and proposed waste water facilities for Patriot WasteWater. In addition, he assists with coordination and compliance related to waste handling, facility requirements with regulatory agencies, and with both planned and spill-related remediation projects. Josh has a wealth of environmental regulatory compliance experience in California, having managed compliance for some of the largest industrial companies in the country. In his 15 years of environmental consulting, he has helped his clients navigate California's complex regulations, and has served on strategic panels which monitor changing regulations and their effect on industry practices. His experience includes some of the largest remediation projects on the west cost, storm water management, waste characterization, and management, CERCLA/RCRA reporting, air permitting, and several other issues relevant to environmental requirements. Josh is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and a California-registered Professional Geologist.
Technical Services Manager
Dale has over 35 years of experience managing environmental and emergency response related projects. He joined Patriot in July of 2002 as the Technical Services Manager responsible for corporate environmental regulatory compliance, response to oil and hazardous materials incidents, hazardous waste management related projects, business development and project management. Prior to joining Patriot, Dale was the Long Beach Division manager for Foss Environmental Services (1998-2002), Manager of Response and Technical Services at Ancon Environmental (1988-1998), a Project Supervisor in the Technical Services Division at Crosby and Overton Environmental Management (1984-1988), and an Operations Technician, Forman and Supervisor at Crowley Environmental Services (1979-1984). Dale graduated from the Sierra College of Biological Sciences in 1972 and California State University of Long Beach (Marine Biology) in 1975.
